Perry’s Victory and International Peace Memorial was established to honor those who fought in the Battle of Lake Erie, during the War of 1812, and to celebrate the long-lasting peace among Great Britain, Canada, and the United States. The Memorial, a Doric column rising 352 feet over Lake Erie, is situated 5 miles from the longest undefended border in the world. Perry’s Victory Monument is the only international peace memorial in the United States National Park System and rises 47 feet taller than the Statue of Liberty in New York City.

When boating to Put-in-Bay Ohio, many docks are on a first-come first-served basis, so plan to arrive early on busy weekends and holidays. The village of Put-in-Bay maintains three large boat docks in the downtown area. Two are managed by the Put-in-Bay Village and the other known as “B” dock is managed by the DeRivera park trust.
Anticipate your Put-in-Bay getaway with a ferry ride. The high-speed Jet Express Ferry vessel is primarily designed for passengers and light freight. This ferry departs from downtown Port Clinton Ohio and Sandusky Ohio and travels at 40 miles per hour. The Jet Express is the only ferry to offer late-night weekend service from Put-in-Bay. The Miller Boat Line has a fleet of four ferries to get you and your vehicle to and from Put-in-Bay. It departs from Catawba Island and arrives at the Lime Kiln Dock at Put-in-Bay. The trip takes just about 20 minutes.
