The unofficial start of the season is the Whiskey Light ceremony at the Round House Bar. The famous Whiskey Light that hangs above the Round House Bar entrance is illuminated, letting everyone know that Put-in-Bay is open for business! This event attracts not just locals from Cleveland and Toledo, but Put-in-Bay lovers from all over the United States! Put-in-Bay lodging fills up for summer events like Bash on the Bay and Labor Day Weekend. The Island Club is one of the most popular choices for event lodging because people typically come in big groups for events, but Put-in-Bay hotels do very well also for big occasions. Bash on the Bay in particular captivated the island last year, with Kid Rock delighting the crowd at the Put-in-Bay airport. Boaters New Year, St. Patrick's Day, Mardi Gras, it's all happening at the Bay!

Some of the most popular Put-in-Bay events draw a crowd from all over the country. Bash on the Bay 2019 featuring Kid Rock drew tens of thousands of people to our island. Pyrate Fest is another massive event that brings in pirate enthusiasts from all over America. We sell out of lodging months in advance for the Put-in-Bay Soccer and Volleyball tournaments as well, where people come from all over the Midwest to compete and enjoy the island!
What events does Put-in-Bay have midweek?
Midweek events at Put-in-Bay tend to be more family focused, such as Wild Tuesdays. You will still also find live music at some of the bars and restaurants during the week.
