1. Spring Fling
There’s no better way to say hello to a new season on South Bass Island than at the Put-in-Bay Spring Fling. Attendees enjoy a weekend of free food, adult beverages, live music, and fun! It’s a great opportunity to reconnect with old friends and meet new ones, too. Gather around the bonfire on Friday night and join in at the all-day street party on Saturday!
This island-wide celebration is available only for guests of the Island Club, Put-in-Bay Condos, Commodore Resort, and Victoria Station Hotel, so be sure to reserve your stay in advance!
2. Put-in-Bay Music Festival
Every year at the beginning of June, the Put-in-Bay Music Festival celebrates peace between the United States, Canada, and Great Britain through music. Six up-and-coming artists from across the country perform at this can’t-miss event featuring free admission, wine, food, and family fun. The festival also features music workshops, Guitar Hero unplugged games, and more. It’s one of the best places to hear live music at the bay!
3. Arts on Erie Week
Art lovers, unite! Arts on Erie is a week-long art program available for kids of all ages. Select from either the morning or afternoon sessions and drop in to make a unique craft. In years past, students have made sculptures, paintings, and prints. Every year, the week concludes with a performance by SMAG Dance Collective. It’s the perfect way to celebrate the arts and to encourage young artists to express themselves.
4. Pyrate Fest Weekend
Have you ever experience a pyrate invasion? If you visit Put-in-Bay in June, you can! Every year, Pyrate Fest Weekend takes over the bay for three days of pyrate-themed fun. Watch the Pyrate Parade fill the streets of downtown Put-in-Bay, compete in the Costume Contest for kids and adults, and participate in the 5K Pyrate Run and Fun Walk. Throughout the festivities, there are sword fight reenactments, black powder firing demonstrations, a pyrate marketplace, and a kids fun fest. Pyrate Fest has something fun for everyone in the family to enjoy and remember for years to come!
5. Put-in-Bay Historical Weekend
Put-in-Bay Historical Weekend is a favorite event for history buffs on the island. The event celebrates the anniversary of the Battle of Lake Erie, a turning point in the War of 1812. Join us at Put-in-Bay’s only national park, Perry’s Victory and International Peace Memorial, in early September. You can expect to see a recreated military encampment, an open-air art market, a grand parade, and a black powder firing demonstration.
6. Island Oktoberfest
One of the most popular traditions on Put-in-Bay is the Annual Island Oktoberfest! Celebrate this German event with lots of ice cold beer, great company, and sensational live entertainment from the Maxx Band. Sample a variety of authentic German foods, such as cabbage rolls, spaetzle, bratwurst, sauerbraten, Wiener schnitzel, and delicious treats.
