Put in bay is serviced by one high-speed passenger-only ferry boat company: the Jet-Express.

The Miller Ferry is Put in Bay's only Automobile and passenger ferry departing from Catawba Island near Port Clinton Ohio. The Miller Ferry has been servicing the island for over 100 years and offers frequent trips and in peak season as often as every half hour and also serves Middle Bass Island.

JET EXPRESS

The Jet Express offers a high speed ferry boat primarily designed for passengers and light freight and offers the only late night service to and from Put-in-Bay. The Jet Express departs from downtown Port Clinton and Sandusky Ohio. The Jet Express also offers inter island service to Kelly's Island. Driving Directions to Put in Bay

This page is designed to help you get to Put-in-Bay on South Bass Island. At the bottom of the page we have general links for most of the major ferries from the major cities near Put-in-Bay. We also have direct links the you can key in your address information and it will direct you to the proper Put-in-Bay Ferry. The Ferry boats leave from three different cities along the Ohio Coastline: Catawba, Port Clinton and Sandusky. The Jet Express is a passenger only Ferry that departs from Port Clinton and Sandusky. The Miller Ferry is a passenger and vehicle Ferry that departs from Catawba Point. Below is a general map of the Northwest coast of Ohio. Jet Express routes are shown in Red and the Miller Ferry is shown in Blue.

Start on the Indiana/Ohio Turnpike east thru Indiana and into Ohio. Get off on Ohio Route 53 in Fremont, Ohio and go North on Ohio Route 53 to Ohio Route 2 East, exit 163 North Port Clinton to the Jet Express or Ohio Route 53 North for the car ferry. 280 Miles.

Cincinnati & Dayton, OH

Begin on I-75 North to Ohio Route 6. (Bowling Green Exit) Continue East to Ohio Route 53 North in Fremont Ohio. North on Ohio Route 53 to Ohio Route 2 East, then exit 163 North Port Clinton for the Jet Express or Ohio Route 53 North for the car ferry. 215 mile

Cleveland, OH

Start on Route 2 West to then exit 163 North to Port Clinton for the Jet Express for the car ferry get off on Ohio Route 53 North.

Start at 270 to Ohio Route 23 North to Ohio Route 4 North. get off and turn right following Ohio Route 4 to Ohio Route 2. Take Ohio Route 2 West, exit 163 North Port Clinton for the Jet Express Ferry or Ohio Route 53 North for the car ferry. 120 Miles

Detroit, MI

Begin I-75 South to Toledo & take the I-280 split South to The Oregon exit which is Ohio Route 2 exit. Get off on Ohio Route 2 and go East. Exit 163 North Port Clinton for the Jet Express Boat or Ohio Route 53 North for the car ferry. 90 Miles

Pittsburgh, PA

Get on the Pennsylvania Turnpike West to Ohio and take the Ohio Route 250 North exit. North on Ohio Route 250 get off Ohio Route 2 West, then exit 163 North Port Clinton for the Jet Express or Ohio Route 53 North for the car ferry. 210 Miles

Toledo, OH

Get on Ohio Route 2 East OR Ohio Turnpike East to the Ohio Route 53 North exit in Fremont, Ohio. Continue North on Ohio Route 53 to Ohio Route 2 East. Get off on 163 North Port Clinton for the Jet Ferry or Ohio Route 53 North for the car ferry. 45 Miles

Indianapolis, IN

Start on I-69 North to the Indiana/Ohio Turnpike continue going east thru Indiana to Ohio. Get off on Ohio Route 53 in Fremont, Ohio and head North on Ohio Route 53 to Ohio Route 2 East, exit on 163 North Port Clinton for the Jet Express Ferry or Ohio Route 53 North for the car ferry. 275 Miles

Cleveland Hopkins Airport

Get on I-480 West to the Ohio Turnpike West Exit #110. Exit at Ohio Route 250 North to Ohio Route 2 and go west. Get off 163 North Port Clinton for the Jet Express Ferry or Ohio Route 53 North for the car ferry. 80 Miles
